High-Volume Nodes as Magnets

Why price often revisits areas of heavy prior trade — and how to use that tendency without turning every node into a forecast.

High-volume nodes mark prices where the auction spent meaningful time and traded size. Markets often revisit those areas because that is where inventory and memory sit. That does not mean price must stop there — only that the node is a place to pay attention.

In Volume Profile Foundations we mark the prior session’s and prior week’s high-volume nodes before the open. Then we watch reaction: acceptance through the node on expanding volume versus rejection that leaves a tail. The node is context, not a crystal ball.

Traders who skip this step often invent support and resistance from swing points alone. Adding volume-at-price keeps those lines honest.
