Climax Volume and What Follows

How to recognise climax prints, why they matter for short-term exhaustion, and how not to overtrade the first pause.

Climax volume is a relative idea: a surge well beyond recent bars, often near the end of an extended run, sometimes with a wide range and a close that fails to hold the extreme. It can mark short-term exhaustion. It can also mark the start of a new initiative if follow-through arrives.

The practical response is patience. Mark the climax bar, note the volume multiple versus the recent average, and wait for the next few bars to show whether selling or buying was absorbed. Jumping in front of the first pause is how traders turn a useful observation into a forced trade.

Volume Confirmation Drills spend an entire week on climax and dry-up signatures so the recognition becomes automatic before any order is considered.
